A PERFORMING PRESENCE
Kimberley Klassiks are an outstanding duo formed in Broome in 2017. Featuring Leonie Jahn on Cello and Bel Skinner on flute, the pair came together to share their passion for music across the Kimberley Region of Western Australia.
Coming together as Kimberley Klassiks, the duo have an extensive and diverse repertoire from Bach, Mozart and Vivaldi through to James Blunt, Cold Play and Ed Sheeran. Personalised arrangements of your special song can also be created for your special day.
Leonie Jahn has been around music since a very young age as her mother is a music teacher and director. Throughout her teenage time she learned to play the piano and has been singing in choirs as well. Leonie's main instrument is the Cello and she has been classicaly trained in the north of Germany. Leonie has been playing the Cello in several Orchestras and Ensembles in Germany.
Next to her musical education, Leonie had always been very successful in sport and has been doing Judo for 10 years.
Apart from that Leonie loves to travel, exercise along Cable Beach and go for a drive into the Kimberley.
Bel Skinner has been playing music since the age of 5. As a concert flautist growing up in Sydney, she has had the opportunity to perform at the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Entertainment Centre and on many great stages around the world, most recently in San Francisco. Bel is a senior music lecturer at North Regional TAFE, an artist manager and mentor through her agency RedRock Music and is on the Board of WAM. In the small windows of time when Bel is not immersed in music, she is a passionate cook who loves to walk her dog, CoCo, on Cable Beach.
